Camping

This is one part of the event we are very excited about! As part of the event, we are able to offer camping for both Friday and Saturday nights! For those of you who haven’t stayed out here before you are in for a treat, it is a truly magic spot to spend the weekend. Thanks to Auckland Council Southern Parks for making this possible.

If you have already completed your event registration and would like to now purchase event merchandise, you can do so through by selecting “My Account” on your confirmation email, or by creating account online here : https://portal.traileventsnz.co.nz/
Create an account and password, and this will allow you to manage all your Trail Events NZ events. Select your Hunua Hillbilly event ticket and use the red “Make Changes” button to “Add Items to Ticket.”

Facilities

We can accommodate up to 100 camping and this will be spread over approximately 40 allocated camping sites.
This is a basic Council campground, therefore toilets & drinking water will be provided, but no other amenities.
However there is a great swimming hole in the river which runs around the event base, for a post run wash off.

Strict ‘Lights Out’ times will be observed, and no noise is to be made after these times.

Lights Out : Friday 9:00pm and Saturday 11:00pm

Catering

Greg and the amazing team from Gourmet Shuttle will be set-up and camping out with us for the duration of the weekend. They will be serving from from their food truck, from their normal menu throughout the weekend, providing options for breakfast on Saturday and Sunday morning and Saturday lunch.

What better way to recover and savour the feeling that comes after a big day on the trails than sitting down to a slap-up meal over a drink or two with newly made friends?

Friday Night Pasta Feast - served 6pm to 7:30pm $25 Adults , $15 Kids (U14)

Creamy Chicken Fettuccini (GF option available)
Beef Lasagne
Hot Vegetarian Pasta (GF option available)

Saturday Night Hunua Hillbilly Buffet BBQ - served 4pm to 8pm $50 Adults , $30 Kids (U14) (includes dinner, dessert + 2 x drinks)

Meat: Ribeye Steaks and Spiced Grilled Chicken breast
Vege: Homemade Falafel Pikklets
More meat: Pre-cook Sausages and Kransky Sausages

Salads:
Greek Salad, Coleslaw and an Italian Pasta Salad
